- Setup Company Information under menu Maintenance\Company Maint.
- Input asset data under menu Maintenances\Asset Maint. .
- Enter miscellaneous data under menu Maintenance\Misc 4562 Maint.
- Form 4562 can be run by selecting the Tax Reports\Form 4562. The form is displayed with the fields populated.
- The form can be printed or saved to your PC.
- Automobile data is inputted using the following Maintenance Pages: Auto Qst Maint. and Auto Use Maint.
- After inputting the auto usage data the asset depreciation needs to be recalculated for the car(s) so that the actual business percent will be applied. Open the Asset Maintenance Form and retrieve the automobile(s) that mileage was entered. Click the apply button to update the depreciation for the asset.
- Form 4562 can be produced for years starting with 2006. New forms will be added as they are released.
- If you have 50 year assets include a copy of the Current Assets or All Asset reports with your return.
Federal Tax form 4562 can also be completed manually from the data supplied on the various reports.
- Part I Section 179 - use the 179 Detail Report.
- Part II Special Depreciation Allowance and Other Depreciation
- For Special Depreciation Allowance use the Current Assets Report, column Allowances. Do not include Listed property.
- Other depreciation would be straight line depreciation from the All Asset Report.
- Part III MACRS Depreciation
- Line 17 - use the Prior Asset Report. No not include MACRS - Listed depreciation, but do include ADS depreciation.
- The rest of the MACRS data is detailed on the Current Asset Report.
- Part V Listed Property
- Use report Listed Assets.
- Part VI Amortization
- Data for this section is obtain from the Current Asset & Prior Asset Report.
